AWO is committed to providing assistance and fostering individual growth with in the community for families and youth. As well, AWO actively participates in community events that support our mission and enhances the well being of the community.
Community Collaborations:
- Annually sponsor local families to receive food and gifts during Thanksgiving and Christmas Holidays.
- Provide monetary support for students who seek learning enrichment activities that promote seeking higher education and increase leadership skills. We have assisted youth in attending various programs with National Hispanic Institute, LULAC, and other enrichment programs that we feel express our mission.
- Collaborated with Hispanic Scholarship Consortium to sponsor a selected local student to aid in furthering their education.
- Participate in local parades and festivals
- Host a booth at Round Rock's Christmas Family Night
- Sponsored Williamson County Youth Summit which provided students and parents with college preparation information, exhibits, and informative seminars. The goal of the conference was to increase awareness, inspire and encourage youth in developing the leadership skills and confidence to succeed in the pursuit of higher education.
