Amistad Women's Organization was formed in 1970. Founding members were wives of members in El Amistad Men's Club who wanted to address similar facets of the community with a main focus on education for minority students.

We are committed to education and supporting our community. Amistad Women's Organization has awarded over $80,000 in scholarships for local students. In addition, we also provide monetary support for students who seek learning enrichment activities that promote seeking higher education and increase leadership skills. Yearly, a local family is sponsored to receive food and gifts during Thanksgiving and Christmas Holidays.
Our local fundraiser is the "Fiesta Amistad Queen/Princess Coronation" held at the annual Fiesta Amistad in Round Rock. This widely known local event is held during Memorial Day weekend. Queen and Princess Candidates spend endless hours to raise money toward our local scholarship fund. The candidate in each category that raised the most funds wins and is crowned during the crowning ceremonies at Fiesta Amistad. Each year the crowd attendance has grown to view coronation of the Queen and Princess winner.
Through out the year, other fundraisers are held to include a BBQ plate sale and tamales during Christmas Holidays. We continually strive to expand this area to generate more community involvement and increase awarded scholarships.
Amistad Women's Organization strives to achieve its maximum potential for the good and benefit of our youth and our community.
